Use the basic pages provided by the plugin or add your own template to your child theme. No complicated settings, and no visual builders. Just a straightforward one-button setup so you can focus on building your website. The plugin also blocks access via the REST API and via XML-RPC so users can’t jump to see what you are building. #### Full Options * None – Doesn’t block access to the site * Blank Screen – Only displays a white screen * Maintenance Mode – Displays maintenance mode text (Editable via the “Maintenance Mode Options” page in settings) * Basic Message – Displays a basic message (Editable via the “Basic Message Options” page in settings) * Use Template – Displays your theme’s own coming soon page: a `coming_soon.php` file in a classic theme, or the “Coming Soon” template in a block theme (edit it in Appearance > Editor > Templates, or add `templates/coming-soon.html` to your theme) * Login Screen – Redirects all requests to the login screen Maintenance Mode answers with a 503 status and a Retry-After header, so search engines know the outage is temporary. The login screen, wp-admin, WP-Cron and admin-ajax keep working, and anybody with the bypass capability sees the site as normal. ## Installation The only place to download this plugin is from the WordPress Repo! Once downloaded, activate from the Plugins admin screen. ## FAQ ### The IP allowlist does not work behind my proxy or CDN Turn on “My site is behind a proxy or CDN (e.g. Cloudflare)” in the settings. The allowlist then uses the visitor address the proxy passes on: CF-Connecting-IP, then the first public address in X-Forwarded-For, then X-Real-IP. Leave it off if your site is not behind a proxy, because anybody can send those headers.
