AI generation uses https:\/\/api.openai.com\/v1\/responses and https:\/\/api.openai.com\/v1\/images\/generations. Requests are made after an administrator configures an API key and explicitly requests an AI action. An article queued by the administrator may be processed later by WP-Cron, including retries for temporary errors.<\/p>\n\n
The API key is sent to OpenAI for authentication. Depending on the action, the request includes the topic, keywords, manually provided URLs, article requirements, writing profile (including author and audience), prompts and trusted source text. Metadata suggestions include selected post IDs, titles and limited content excerpts. Image generation sends a text prompt. Generated text, images and usage information return to your WordPress installation. The plugin does not send your Media Library image files to OpenAI.<\/p>\n\n
Text requests set store=false for the Responses API. OpenAI's own data handling and retention policies still apply. API availability, model access and usage charges depend on your OpenAI account.<\/p>\n\n

Reporting is off by default. Under Platform Settings > Updates & Privacy an administrator may separately opt in to reporting that the installation is active. It is not required to use the plugin.<\/p>\n\n
When enabled, the plugin sends a random installation token, plugin version, build and active\/inactive status to https:\/\/sitepublisher.ai\/wp-json\/sitepublisher-distribution\/v1\/installation, at most once per day while active. It does not send the site URL, email, passwords, OpenAI key, article content or visitor data. The receiving server sees the connection IP address and may retain it in hosting logs. The reporting service uses a short-lived, daily salted IP hash for rate limiting.<\/p>\n\n
The service stores a hash of the random installation token, version, build and activity times. Activity records expire 90 days after the last report. On opt-out, reporting stops immediately and deletion is requested. A token-hash revocation marker may remain for up to 90 days to reject delayed reports. If deletion cannot be confirmed, the previous record expires. Deactivation attempts to report inactive, disables reporting locally and clears its schedule. Reporting must be enabled again after reactivation. A local URL fingerprint prevents a cloned site from reusing a reporting token; that fingerprint is not transmitted.<\/p>\n\n

The OpenAI API key is encrypted in the WordPress database using authenticated encryption tied to WordPress security keys. A change to those security keys may require entering the API key again. The key is never sent to SitePublisher AI.<\/p>\n\n
Article briefs, source text, generated content, profiles, settings and usage records are stored locally as needed for the requested workflows. Queued content remains in the local database until removed through the queue controls. Diagnostic logs are stored in a private database option, limited to 500 entries. Entries older than 14 days are discarded when logs are read or written. Sensitive credential fields are redacted. Logs are displayed only to administrators and are not sent to SitePublisher AI.<\/p>\n\n
Installation reporting and the optional public footer credit are separate, off-by-default choices. The credit links to https:\/\/sitepublisher.ai\/ and is not inserted into article content. Disable it to remove it from the footer.<\/p>\n\n
This WordPress.org package has no external plugin updater. Plugin updates use WordPress's standard directory update system. The older direct-download update preference is not used by this edition.<\/p>\n\n
Deactivation stops plugin cron jobs and disables optional reporting. Deactivation and deletion do not automatically erase generated posts, media, settings, stored keys or plugin records. Back up and remove data intentionally if permanently retiring the plugin; do not delete data when merely switching editions.<\/p>\n\n

Local profiles, prompts, usage and queue records retain their IDs; their private post types and metadata are upgraded. Published posts and Media Library content retain their IDs and content. This is a one-way storage upgrade: restore your backup before returning to a previous edition. The old edition will not read the new private post types or receive later setting changes.<\/p>\n\n
