I wrote the 1 star review a few days ago but it got deleted as it was labled to be a “conspiracy theory” – go figure. So here we go again. I loved the idea behind this community plugin, the use of interactivity api, access to gutenbert, ability to dynamically show embedded query loop results, but alas, as everything else that came from Bransormforce, this product too resulted in a flop. This is now almost normal Brainstormforce (aka Sure Crafted) company behavior. The pattern is always the same: hyped up marketing, followed by a half baked product and poor custome support. The product eventually gets abandonded and they move on to a new cash cow. SureDash, as is today, is not functional, not production ready. Even Brainstormforce is not using it to run their community and is in istead using facebook community. (on the other side of the aisle, you have Fluent Community running their community on their own product). Even though v1 is now out, the product is still missing basic features, which are by the way marketed on their website. To illustrate, users cannot even edit their own comments, which is a basic basic functionality. Additionally, you need to purchase other Sure product to make a so so working community. If you want to manage membership, you need to buy Sure Members. To add course videos, buy Presto Player. To assing a badge, buy Sure Triggers (aka OttoKit). The features seam to be seggmented on purpose to generate mroe sales for the company. And then talk about bugs, which are typical for brainstormforce products. And when users write a critical posts in their facebook group, the posts get deleted and users banned. Again, typical brainstormforce behavior. Judging by the current dev pace, suredash is at least 2-3 years from being production ready. If the company survives that long… So, if you are looking for a community plugin, look elsewhere.

Updating my review and adding another star as apparently it hurt their feelings. Bottom line it is just not very good. Test it and see for yourself.I will certainly change my review again if the sure team deliver.

UPDATED REVIEW: July 2025I changed the review from 1 star to 2 as there have been some fast releases recently to fix things that are broken. But still here we are in July 2025 after purchasing an alpha product in November 2024. We all knew going in that it would be unusable until March 2025 or there abouts….but still to be so lacking is a bit shocking. As an LMS or a Community it is not there yet.

If you need to decide between this plugin and fluent community, here are a few takeaways: SD is more flexible and open (follows wp architecture) but depends on paid suremembers plugin for fine access management, is less focused (it is not a community first plugin, the team relying on facebook for its communities, and its primary purpose is less clear), the fb group is not very active and many posts are declined publication. FC is more mature, feature rich, enhanced by the fluent ecosystem (namely free version of fluent crm for fine access rules), more ambitious as a community platform (upcoming dedicated app), has a more friendly and active community (hosted by the plugin itself) but integrates less easily with the rest of your site If you are in a hurry and need a community first plugin, go the fluent way. If you need optimized integration with the rest of your site or the other sureplugins and have some patience, SD is a good choice, given the track record of the team behind it. In the end I bought both at launch price and would have bought Suremembers if my request for a special discount for SD clients had not been ignored. In the meantime, I compromise with a free 3rd party plugin for finer access management. Let’s see how fast SD can become a fun and efficient plugin to use…

1.0 is finally out. I really hope this marks a turning point and that the team can start living up to the vision they shared from the beginning. I wanted this to work—I still do—but after all this time, it’s hard not to feel let down. I joined SureDash early with genuine optimism. The idea of a native WordPress solution for communities and directories was compelling, and I was happy to support a product in development—as long as there was clear communication, steady progress, and a sense of direction. But after several months, version 1.0 took much longer than expected. Timelines kept slipping, and at some point, updates stopped altogether. The lack of communication made it difficult to stay confident in the process. If the pace picks up and things improve significantly, I’ll be happy to revise this review. To the SureDash and Brainstorm Force team: Please communicate more. Your early backers believed in your product and your long-term vision—and we still want to. But that requires transparency and consistency. If you want to retain the trust of your early adopters, now’s the time to refocus. Don’t spread yourselves thin launching new tools while others remain half-baked. Suredash can be an amazing plugin. Let’s make it happen.
